Bcomoning un-wounded cont.
IN 2021 the State President – HE Cyril Ramaphosa declared GBV a pandemic, rightfully so. There have been measures and efforts taken by government, business, NGOs and individuals alike to contribute towards fighting this ill.
In a bid to help in addressing this monster in our country Fix A Woman’s Crown was birthed, with the view to assist in providing healing to the nation, one step at a time. The idea is to not isolate the issues, by merely focusing on victims and survivors, but to also get to the root of the problems by reaching out to ‘perpetrators’ and those affected.
The contents of this documentary will provide insight to unfiltered stories of victims and survivors of GBV -fostering their road to being Un-wounded.
What we, as a country, are dealing with!
Gender based violence has been the visible pandemic in South Africa for a long time. In September last year, President Ramaphosa unveiled R1 billion action plan to combat gender-based violence. He also said that those who commit violent acts against women and children should not be allowed bail. We are yet to be updated on how successful these initiatives have been. There are still instances where the police are failing to protect women against their abusers. Women and girls are still raped by men, murdered by men – or both.
The rate of reported mental health challenges that women go through as direct impact of Gender Based Violence is normally understated which then adds to a continuous cycle of trauma from generation to generation.
Is Misandry underrated?
