This year’s Queens of the Pitch Tournament proudly honours Refiloe Jane for her outstanding contribution to the growth and development of women’s football in South Africa and across the continent.

Born and raised in Soweto, Refiloe Jane continues to inspire a new generation of young female footballers through her leadership, professionalism, and achievements on the international stage.

This tournament celebrates her legacy, her journey, and her impact on empowering women in sport.

Tournament Information

The Queens of the Pitch Tournament is a premier women’s 7-a-side football championship aimed at empowering female football talent, promoting competitive sport, and creating opportunities for university and community teams to showcase their skills.

Entry fee is R1000 per team and participation is limited to the first 16 qualifying teams that meet the tournament requirements.

Tournament Rules & Qualifying Criteria

Teams must meet the following requirements to qualify:

Female players only
Minimum squad of 7 players, maximum of 12 players
Players must be 16 years or older
Completed forms must be submitted before the deadline
Valid identification is required for all players
Teams must arrive 60 minutes before their first fixture
Respect for officials and opponents is mandatory
Only the first 16 qualifying teams will be confirmed

Entry closes immediately once 16 qualifying teams have been confirmed.
